I like to collect movies, every now and then I would go to Block Buster or Rogers Video and purchase my all time favorites and add it to my VHS/DVD library. Now, I also have friends that like to borrow my stuff and although I don't like to lend out my movies sometimes I do.
Stay with me, now if I lend you one of my DVD movies from my extensive video library that I took the time to create or compile and you scratch it up, I mean really put some deep destructive squiggly lines on my DVD would I want to lend you another one?
Taking Care of Your Body
Well, how good are you taking care of your body that God lent you? Have you scratched it all up? Have you over fed it, underfed it, massacred it with processed food, sugars, salt and unatural things you can't even pronounce? Have you dehyrated your body, poisoned your body with chemicals, cigarettes, alcohol, foreign drugs, illegal supplements or diet pills.
Have you failed to use or exercise your mind and body like it was meant to or are you wasting away your body's potential by leading a sedentary lifestyle? Your body is either at-ease or dis-eased.
Religious Folk
Religous folk often ignore signs of dis-ease leaving it all up to God to bail them out, but should God really lend you another DVD? Everyone has an obligation to fulfill their assignment on the earth; this is done by acessing the mind of God developing your creative power and using your gifts and talents. Your assignment cannot be fulfilled in a sickly or diseased body.
Religous folk have a tendency to lean towards spirtuality forgetting that nothing cannot be done without mind, body and spirit. You cannot divorce the three! It is up to you to take care of your body. You need to exercise and eat right. The body was designed for movement, not to be parked on the couch in front of broadcasted media (TV). In addition, the body was not meant to digest a myriad of unnatural foods.
Why do you think organics have become popular? Alot of things we struggle with (sickness, disease) is manifested out of our own doing. It's up to you to take care of your body. Eat right and exercise.
Research Study
There was recently a study done I haven't seen it but I've heard about it. The study says that the reason that we are struggling with obesity in North America is because of religion. Now, although that is absolutely false. I've come to the conclusion that most christians are lazy when it comes to their health. Didn't Jesus walk everywhere although he could of easily been carried by his disciples. Was he not a carpenter? That's a very physically demanding job! I bet he probably had a six pack and all those who want to follow him also need to follow the example of his health and fitness.
Conclusion
You have to be a good steward of everything God gives you. Is not the earth the Lord's and the fullness there of, should you not present your members holy and accetable unto Christ.
I encourage you to make health and fitness important in your life! Take care of what God has given you! You may not get another one!
